Frequently Asked Questions

What is Blue Health Coaching™

Blue Health Coaching™ is a holistic practice that combines elements of traditional life coaching, applied neuroscience, philosophy, environmental psychology and mind-body practices with the healing power of nature.

It draws on all the “blue mind” wellbeing benefits of time in and around water.

These sessions take place at the beach or along a body of water.

What do I need to bring for a Blue Health Coaching session?

It’s important to dress appropriately for a coastal walk depending on the season.

  • Spring & Summer - suncream, hat, removable layers, rain jacket, water.

  • Autumn & Winter - Coat, hat, gloves.

For all Blue Health Sessions, sturdy shoes or walking boots are essential. A notebook and pencil can be handy to write down any moments of clarity or for journaling. These can also be purchased from us.

You may be drawn to the water so wear swimwear under your clothes and bring a microfiber towel or robe to change with.

I’ll provide a warm drink and snack and blanket to sit on.

What Life (Personal) & Professional coaching models do you use?

My coaching style is generally led by the type of person you are, in our pre-consultation, I may ask you to complete a short exercise to help me identify the best tools to use. Also, during a coaching session, I am very fluid and will make adjustments where necessary and use Clean Language.

I follow most standard Leadership tools and you will likely recognise the standard GROW & SMART models, these will be interwoven with my CLARITY & Core Values model along with Blue Health techniques where appropriate.

Life, Strengths and Values assessment tools alongside other coaching models.

What is Forest Bathing & Nature Connectedness?

Based on an ancient Japanese process of relaxation called Shinrin Yoku.

Forest Bathing is an evidence-based immersive experience that leads to a greater sense of well-being.

Nature Connectedness refers to the feelings of belonging and being connected with nature – it’s a spiritual quality that helps people to connect with the natural world around them.

These sessions take place in a small wooded area or along the coastline.
